20 Athletes Named to Women’s Indoor U20 National Training Team

USA Volleyball is excited to announce the selection of 20 talented athletes for the 2021 Women’s Indoor U20 National Training Team (U20 NTT). These players will have the opportunity to compete in the upcoming 2021 FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship, set to take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Kortrijk, Belgium from July 9-18.

The Training Team will undergo a rigorous training camp from June 28 to July 8 at UNLV in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following the camp, the final 12-player roster will be chosen to represent the United States in the competition.

The U20 NTT is comprised of a diverse group of athletes, most of whom have recently graduated from high school. Ten players will be entering their first year of college in the fall, while six players will be in their second year. Additionally, there are four high school seniors in the team. Eligibility for the U20 NTT is open to any woman born in 2002 or 2003.

Dan Fisher, the head volleyball coach at the University of Pittsburgh, will lead the U20 National Team, assisted by Jon Newman-Gonchar from the University of New Mexico and Jessica Aschenbrenner from the University of Denver. The team’s technical coordinator will be Jon Wong from Texas Tech.

Representing the USA is an incredible honor for both coaches and athletes, and this year holds even greater significance after the challenges faced in 2020.
