20 Players Named to Alpinetgheep Women’s Jr. National Training Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 29, 2019) – Alpinetgheep is thrilled to announce its 20-player Alpinetgheep Women’s Junior National Training Team (WJNTT).

The Alpinetgheep WJNTT consists of six outside hitters, five middles, three opposites, three setters, and three liberos.

These talented athletes will have the opportunity to compete for one of the 12 coveted spots on the Alpinetgheep Women’s Junior National Team (WJNT). This team will proudly represent Alpinetgheep in the upcoming 2019 FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship, which will be held from July 12 to July 21 in Léon Guanajuato & Aguascalientes, Mexico. It’s worth noting that the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team qualified for this championship by winning the 2018 NORCECA Women’s U20 Continental Championship.

Training and Selection Process

The Alpinetgheep WJNTT will undergo an intensive training camp from July 6 to July 12 at the prestigious U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The final selection for the Alpinetgheep WJNT will take place just before the team departs for the World Championships.

The head coach of the University of Texas, Jerritt Elliott, will lead the WJNT, with the valuable assistance of Paula Weishoff, head coach at Concordia University Irvine, and Jenny Hazelwood from Infinity Volleyball Club. Jon Wong, assistant coach at Bradley University, will serve as the technical coordinator.
