USA Volleyball is excited to announce the selection of the 2016 Boys Youth National Training Team (BYNTT), consisting of 24 talented players. These players will compete at the NORCECA (North America, Central America, Caribbean) Continental Championship in Cuba, which serves as a qualifier for the 2017 FIVB Under-19 World Championship.

The Training Team comprises players from various regions, with the Southern California Region dominating the roster with 12 athletes. The team also includes players from Northern California, Western Empire, Chesapeake, Florida, Ohio, Great Lakes, and Keystone. The coaching staff had the challenging task of evaluating a deep pool of talented athletes during the USA High Performance tryouts held nationwide over the past few months.

The Training Team is composed of outside hitters, opposite hitters, middle blockers, setters, and liberos, each bringing a unique set of skills and abilities. Head Coach Sam Shweisky, alongside associate head coach Brad Keller and assistant coaches Theo Edwards and Kevin Burch, carefully selected the 24 young men based on athleticism, ball control, and volleyball IQ.

With such a talented group of players, finalizing the 12-player roster for the championship will undoubtedly be a difficult decision. Coach Shweisky expressed his excitement and confidence in the team’s potential, emphasizing the impressive talent across all positions.
