Beach Update: Trinidad & Tobago

Four U.S. teams are set to compete in the final beach volleyball event of the year, the NORCECA season finale in Trinidad & Tobago. Brooke Sweat/Emily Day, Summer Ross/Kimberly DiCello, Theo Brunner/Billy Allen, and Stafford Slick/Mark Burik will represent the United States in this exciting tournament.

This competition marks a new partnership for Sweat and Day, who have previously played with different partners. Ross and DiCello, on the other hand, reunite after playing together back in 2012. As for Brunner and Allen, they had a successful 2016 FIVB season and are now making their first appearance together in NORCECA.

As the 2016 season comes to a close, it’s common for athletes to shift partnerships and coaches, especially after an Olympic cycle. Looking ahead to 2017, the FIVB World Tour will kick off in February in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Fans can expect to see new partnerships and teams as they register for this exciting event.

The FIVB has released a preliminary schedule for 2017, including top-rated Five Star tournaments in the U.S. and the Beach Volleyball World Championships in Vienna, Austria. There’s a lot to look forward to in the world of beach volleyball!
