USA Volleyball’s Education Services department is offering a unique opportunity for member coaches to directly observe the NTDP Indoor Summer Training Series. The National Team Development Program
The NTDP’s mission is to identify, recruit, and accelerate the development of high-potential junior volleyball athletes, with the goal of achieving sustained international competitive excellence. The program covers age-group categories starting from under-15 for girls and under-16 for boys, with the oldest age group being under-21 for both genders. Athletes selected for the NTDP Training Series are scouted nationwide and are also considered for USA Volleyball’s underage national teams.

The NTDP Summer Training Series focuses on program themes, which are set by the head coaches in consultation with the national team staff. The training themes align with the skills required for each position and aim to achieve success at the international level of volleyball. The themes for this training are:
- Block and Defense Systems – Reading and Identifying Advantageous Situations
- Serving – Pre-Serve Ritual and Breath
- Serve Reception – Float Serve Reception
These are the primary themes that coaches will be exposed to on-site and will learn about during their observation.
