College Pairs the Stars at Beach Championships

The collegiate beach volleyball scene is gearing up for an exciting showdown at the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships in Hermosa Beach from May 8th to May 11th. This event brings together some of the best beach volleyball teams from colleges across the nation. With 46 women’s teams and 16 men’s teams registered, the competition is going to be fierce.

One of the highlights of this tournament is that teams that medal and still have college eligibility will be invited to train with the college beach training team. This provides an amazing opportunity for talented players to further develop their skills and showcase their potential on a national level.

Teams/Seeding

The women’s division is stacked with talent, with 22 teams competing in the qualification round to secure a spot in the main draw. The top seeds are Claire Coppola and Kristen Nuss from LSU, who are the defending champions. They will face tough competition from second seeds Brook Bauer and Deahna Kraft of Pepperdine, as well as third seeds Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon from Florida State.

On the men’s side, Tim Brewster of UCLA and Adam Wienckowski of Florida Atlantic are the top seeds. Wienckowski, the defending champion, won last year’s event with Jonathan Justice. However, Justice is now representing Florida State and is the second seed with Bryce Edwards of Nicholls State.
