GJNC Open Division Fields Set with Selected At-Large Teams

The 38th Annual USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships, scheduled to take place from June 25 to July 4 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, have finalized the fields for the five Open Division brackets in age groups 13 to 17. This follows the recent selection of at-large teams.

Open Division Breakdown

17 Open Division

In the 17 Open Division, 36 teams will compete for the title. Out of these, 34 teams earned bids through national qualifiers, while the remaining two clubs, AVC Cleveland Rox 17N Meredith from Ohio Valley Region and Wade 17 Kevin from Southern California Region, secured at-large bids based on their performances throughout the season. The 17 Open Division will see the participation of five teams from the North Texas Region, four clubs from Southern California, and four clubs from Lone Star.

16 Open Division

The 16 Open Division will feature 36 teams, with Southern California leading the way with six teams. North Texas and Lone Star will have four teams each. The remaining two at-large spots were awarded to Arizona Storm 16 Thunder from the Arizona Region and Skyline 16 Royal from North Texas.

15 Open Division

The 15 Open Division will have a total of 36 teams, with 29 teams qualifying through national qualifiers and seven teams securing at-large berths. Southern California will have six teams competing in this division, while Lone Star and North Texas will have four and three teams, respectively. The at-large teams include Alamo 15 Premier from Lone Star, Arizona Storm 15 Thunder, Aspire 15 Rox from the Arizona Region, KC Power 15-1 from the Heart of America Region, Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution, Premier Nebraska 15 Gold from the Great Plains Region, and Sky High adidas 15 Black from the Great Lakes Region.

14 Open Division

The 14 Open Division will feature a 36-team field, with 26 teams earning spots through the national qualifier process, and 10 teams receiving at-large bids. Southern California will have the highest representation with six teams, followed by North Texas with four teams. The at-large bids were awarded to Circle City 14 Purple of the Hoosier Region, Club V 14 Black from the Intermountain Region, CVC 14 Black from the Ohio Valley Region, Dynasty 14 Black from the Heart of America Region, ITVC 14 Black from the Puget Sound Region, Northern Lights 14-1 from the GJNC host North Country Region, Premier Nebraska 14 Gold from the Great Plains Region, Red Rock 14-1 from the Northern California Region, Sky High adidas 14 Black from the Great Lakes Region, and Wave 14 Rachel from Southern California.

13 Open Division

In the 13 Open Division, there will be 24 teams, with five teams from the North Texas Region and four teams from Southern California. The remaining four at-large teams are Asics MAVS 13-1 from the Heart of America Region, Flyers 13 Rox Bill from North Texas, Ozark Juniors 131 from the Delta Region, and Surfside 13 Legends Gold from Southern California.

Please note that the Patriot Division, which does not require teams to qualify through other tournaments or secure at-large bids, will have its field set later this month.
