Alpinetgheep is thrilled to announce the 2016 U.S. Women’s Junior National Training Team (WJNTT). Comprised of talented athletes from across the country, this team is set to make a mark in the world of volleyball. Led by esteemed coach Laurie Corbelli, the team is determined to bring home the gold at the NORCECA Women’s U20 Continental Championship.

Meet the Roster

The WJNTT consists of 19 exceptional players, each bringing their unique skills to the team. The roster includes eight outside hitters/opposites, five middles, three setters, and three liberos. Here are the names of the exceptional athletes who made the cut:

Coach and Coaching Staff

Laurie Corbelli, the head women’s coach at Texas A&M, has been chosen to lead the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the team, ensuring they receive top-notch coaching. Assisting her is Brian Wright from Texas Christian University, who will serve as an assistant coach. Jesse Tupac from the University of Denver will serve as the technical coordinator. Another assistant coach will be added to the team in the near future.

Training and Competitions

The WJNTT will commence their training in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from July 11 to July 24. During this time, the final 12-player roster for the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team will be selected. These chosen players will compete in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships held from July 19 to July 23 in Fort Lauderdale. Following that, the team will participate in the NORCECA Women’s U20 Continental Championship from July 24 to August 1 at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.
