Anaheim to Host 2018 USAV Girls’ 18s Junior Nationals

USA Volleyball has selected Anaheim as the host city for the 2018 USA Volleyball Girls 18s Junior National Championships (GJNC18). Excitement is building as the event is scheduled to take place from April 27-29, 2018, at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

Anaheim, known for its support of volleyball at both the regional and national levels, is the official host city for the U.S. Women’s and Men’s National Teams. This will be the third year that the GJNC18 will be held as an independent event exclusively for the 18s age division.

“We are thrilled to bring the Girls 18s Junior National Championships to Anaheim,” says USA Volleyball Senior Director Tom Pingel. “Anaheim has been a longstanding volleyball partner, hosting numerous national junior qualifiers and other events. It is the perfect location.”

The GJNC18 is expected to draw approximately 260 teams, consisting of nearly 3,000 players, and will attract over 5,000 family members and friends from across the country. The event will feature competitions in five age divisions: Open, National, USA, American, and Patriot Divisions.

Visit Anaheim President and CEO, Jay Burress, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Hosting the 2018 USA Volleyball Girls 18s Junior National Championships is a tremendous honor for us. We have been the official host city for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Volleyball Teams for many years, and we are committed to supporting the rising stars of the sport, especially during this rapidly growing youth competition.”

In addition to the GJNC18, Anaheim will also host two USA Volleyball Cup matches this year. The No. 2 U.S. Women’s National Team will face No. 4 Brazil at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena on August 27th at 4 p.m. PT and August 29th at 7:30 p.m. PT. Tickets for these matches will be available for purchase later this month.

We are excited to see the Anaheim Convention Center once again become the center stage for these prestigious volleyball events.
