Beach Update: Klagenfurt Major, U19 World Championships

The 2016 Olympics are just around the corner, and the U.S. Olympic Beach Volleyball Team is diligently preparing for this historic event. While the Games officially commence on August 6th for the U.S. beach athletes, they are keeping their momentum going at the FIVB World Tour Klagenfurt Major and the FIVB U19 Beach World Championships.

The U.S. Olympic Beach Volleyball Team consists of eight talented athletes, half of whom will be making their Olympic debut. The team will be traveling to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on August 1st, after going through processing in Houston. The beach athletes will be engaging in pool play matches from August 6th to August 11th. Due to the one-hour difference between Rio and Eastern Time, some matches, including two featuring April Ross and Kerri Walsh Jennings, will take place at midnight.

The medal matches for women and men will be held on August 17th and 18th, respectively. The bronze medal matches will commence at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the gold medal matches at 11 p.m. ET. These matches will be aired on NBC and streamed online.
