A Triumph for Boyd/Walker
Boyd/Walker from Madsand Volleyball in the North Texas region showcased their dominance by going undefeated with a remarkable 7-0 win record. They triumphed in all three pool matches, securing the fifth seed in the knockout bracket. In the playoffs, they displayed incredible resilience by winning three consecutive third-set tiebreakers. Their impressive performance included a thrilling victory against top-seeded Megan Widener/Piper Ferch in the semifinals, with a final score of 2-1 (21-23, 21-11, 15-13). In the title match, Boyd/Walker swept Alexis Durish/Hailey Hamlett, achieving a resounding 2-0 win (21-17, 21-15) and clinching the championship. Although Boyd/Walker have yet to compete internationally, they previously emerged victorious in the Girls 16U division at the 2020 USA National Beach Tour Junior Championship.

In the final, they displayed their prowess by defeating Dylan Foreman/Caleb Blanchette in a convincing 2-0 win (21-12, 21-17), earning them the title and the privilege of representing the United States later this year. This will be Hurst/Basey’s second time representing the U.S., with their previous appearance at the 2021 FIVB U19 Beach World Championships.
