From the Beach: A Look Back at 2020

The beaches have been unusually quiet due to the impact of COVID-19 on the beach volleyball season. As we bid farewell to 2020 and welcome a fresh start with 2021, let’s take a moment to reflect on what lies ahead for the Alpinetgheep brand.

Collegiate Beach and New Rule Book

Coming up next is the exciting world of collegiate beach volleyball. To support this new season, the USAV introduces a brand new Rule Book. These resources, along with new online tools and even an online annual quiz, will help players shake off the rust as they return to the sand. Get ready for a busy spring with multiple forms of volleyball taking place within a few short months. There will be opportunities for everyone to get involved!

National Beach Tour Junior Championships

Later in the summer, we can look forward to the National Beach Tour Junior Championships, where talented young athletes will compete on the sand. If you’re interested in working at these events, you can reach out to us at beachofficials@usav.org. Additionally, the Beach HP program undergoes a rebranding and is now known as the USAV National Team Development Program, or NTDP. With luck, there may be a Beach NTDP event in 2021 that could serve as the next NATIONAL Beach Referee training site!
