More Volleyball Leaders to be Honored at Hall of Fame

The USA Volleyball Hall of Fame is set to honor several outstanding individuals for their contributions to the sport. Among those being recognized is Philip Bryant, the Gulf Coast Region Commissioner for USA Volleyball. Bryant, also known as Coach Bryant, has played a pivotal role in making beach volleyball an NCAA sport. He will receive the prestigious George J. Fisher Leader in Volleyball Award, recognizing his significant contributions to volleyball programs and activities over a span of 20 years.

The 2022 USA Volleyball Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on May 25 in Orlando, Florida, at the Dorothy C. Boyce Banquet. This will be the first in-person ceremony since 2019, and it promises to be a memorable event. Tickets for the ceremony can be purchased through the official website of the USA Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Other deserving individuals who will be honored at the ceremony include John Hughes, the commissioner of the USAV Western Empire Region, who will receive the Dr. Neville A. “Doc” Booth Commissioner’s Award. Additionally, Liz Masakayan, a former indoor Olympian and international beach champion, will be named the All-Time Great Female Beach Athlete, while the All-Time Great Male Beach Athlete award will be presented to Sinjin Smith, a two-time world champion. Furthermore, Phil Dalhausser, a four-time Olympian and gold medalist, will be recognized as the 2021 National Team Male Athlete of the Year.
