Preview: Anaheim Set to Host GJNC18 Nationals

The USA Volleyball Girls’ 18s Junior National Championships (GJNC18) is set to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from April 27-29. With 296 teams and approximately 3,000 athletes competing, this event promises to be an exciting showcase of talent and skill in the 18-and-under age group.

Standalone Championship

Now in its third year as a standalone championship, separate from the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships, the GJNC18 provides a platform for young athletes to compete against the best in their age group. This summer, the Junior National Championships will be held in Detroit for age groups ranging from 11-and-under to 17-and-under.

Intense Competition

The GJNC18 will feature a total of 40 courts inside the Anaheim Convention Center, with matches beginning at 8 a.m. PT on April 27. The premier 18 Open Division will consist of 36 teams, all of which have earned their spot at nationals through various qualifying tournaments held across the country.

The 18 USA and 18 American Divisions will each have 48 and 64 teams, respectively, that have secured their place in the GJNC18s through national qualifier tournaments. The 18 National Division will feature 48 teams based on regional volleyball association championship events, at-large bids, and re-allocation spots. Lastly, the 18 Patriot Division will have a field of 100 teams for clubs that opted for a season-ending tournament without the need to qualify.

Live Streaming and Interaction

USA Volleyball will be live streaming four courts, including both championship courts, from the first serve on April 27 to the final serve on April 29. Exciting Seeding

Northern Lights 18-1 and Metro 18 Travel are the top seeds in the 18 National Division. IL HPSTL 18 Elite and Northern Lights 18-2 lead the way in the 18 USA Division. Finally, Momentous 18-1 Randy and Laguna Beach 18MS are the top seeds in the 18 American and 18 Patriot Divisions, respectively.
