The Global Reach

It is also worth noting that American athletes are making their mark in diverse countries around the world. In total, 36 different countries have American volleyball players participating in the 2017-18 club season, showcasing the international appeal and talent of American volleyball.

The International Transfer Certificate (ITC)

To participate in professional leagues abroad, athletes must obtain an International Transfer Certificate (ITC). This is a mandatory requirement set by the FIVB (International Volleyball Federation) for athletes to transfer from one National Federation (country) to another to play in professional leagues. All National Federations are required to follow this established procedure, ensuring a transparent and standardized process for player transfers.

We are proud to see the success and growth of American volleyball players in foreign professional leagues. These international transfers not only provide valuable opportunities for the athletes but also contribute to the development and global recognition of American volleyball.
