USAV Names 19 Players to Pan Am Training Roster

The U.S. Women’s National Team has recently announced the 19 athletes who will be participating in the training and selection process for a spot on the Pan American Cup roster. This highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place from June 30 to July 11 in the Dominican Republic.

In order to focus their efforts on the World Grand Prix, U.S. Women’s National Team Head Coach Karch Kiraly has appointed University of Pittsburgh Head Coach Dan Fisher to lead the Pan American Cup squad. Fisher has proven his expertise in this role before, having led the U.S. to victory and the gold medal in the 2015 Pan American Games, where they triumphed over Brazil in the championship match.

Joining Fisher on the Pan American Cup coaching staff are assistant coach Heather Olmstead from BYU Women’s team, team leader/assistant coach Jon Newman-Gonchar from the University of Arkansas, and scout coach Tristan Johnson from Arkansas State University.

The final roster for the Pan American Cup competition will be announced in late June.
