USAV Selects Girls Youth National Training Team

USA Volleyball proudly announces the U.S. Girls Youth National Training Team (GYNTT) roster, consisting of 24 talented players. These athletes will compete for one of 12 spots to represent the United States at the upcoming FIVB Girls U18 World Championship in Cairo, Egypt from September 5-14, 2019.

Roster Breakdown

The GYNTT roster includes 10 wing spikers (outsides and opposites), six middles, four setters, and four liberos. Each player brings unique skills and talents to the team.

Players and Positions

  • Outsides/Opposites (10): Ally Batenhorst, Jade Demps, Natalie Glenn, Allison Jacobs, Lindsay Krause, Emily Londot, Charitie Luper, Jess Mruzik, Elena Oglivie, Audra Wilmes.
  • Middles (6): Tyrah Ariail, Carter Booth, Caroline Crawford, Allison Holland, Devyn Robinson, Jordyn Williams.
  • Setters (4): Naomi Cabello, Scottee Johnson, Kami Miner, Kennedi Orr.
  • Liberos (4): Sydney Reed, Lexi Rodriguez, Hattie Monson, Sydney Taylor.

Training Program and Coaching Staff

The GYNTT will undergo training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs from July 17-26. Led by head coach Jim Stone, who has been involved with the U.S. Girls Youth National Team program for over a decade, the team aims to continue their success. Stone has previously guided the team to silver medals at the 2013 and 2015 FIVB Girls U18 World Championship.

Assistant Coaches and Technical Coordinator

Nicki Holmes and Kelly Surrency will serve as assistant coaches, providing valuable expertise and guidance to the players. Mike Gee will serve as the technical coordinator, ensuring a well-coordinated training program.

Previous Success and Returning Players

Eleven of the 2019 GYNTT members were part of the 2018 U.S. Girls Youth National Team that won gold at the NORCECA Girls U18 Continental Championship. These players, along with other talented athletes, are eager to represent the United States and compete for the World Championship title.
