The criteria for evaluating publications in this award include several major areas. First, the publications must be aesthetically pleasing, with a layout that flows smoothly from one page to the next. They should also make logical and appropriate use of white space, color, and graphics to complement the text.

In terms of editorial content, the publications must provide the most up-to-date information available. They should cover a wide range of issues and information and include pertinent regional information in each publication. Ease of reference within the publication is also important, and there should be no glaring errors in the text from a grammatical or mechanical standpoint.

Overall presentation is crucial, and publications will be evaluated on how well they have achieved their intended purpose. The evaluation formula is as follows: content and accuracy account for 70 percent, ease of reference for 20 percent, and aesthetic impression for 10 percent.
