WNT Update: Lanier Shines with 20 Points for Conegliano

Italy

Türkiye

VakifBank (11-1), boasting outside hitter Ali Frantti, middle blocker Chiaka Ogbogu, and opposite Jordan Thompson, emerged as the silver medalists at the Women’s Club World Champs in Hangzhou, China, from December 12th to 18th.

In the semifinals on December 16th, VakifBank defeated Tianjin Bohai Bank from China in a commanding 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-23, 25-23). Thompson and Frantti showcased their skills, scoring 14 and 13 points, respectively. Ogbogu provided a strong defensive presence with four points.

Justine Wong-Orantes and SC Potsdam (6-4) battled hard but fell short against Dresdner SC in a thrilling 3-2 match on December 16th (24-26, 25-17, 25-19, 24-26, 15-11). Annie Drews and JT Marvelous fought hard but were unable to overcome the NEC Red Rockets, losing in the semifinals of the Empress Cup on December 16th (25-17, 25-23, 29-27).

Brionne Butler and Osasco Sao Cristovao Saude (5-2) triumphed over Associação Atlética São Caetano in a straight-set victory on December 18th (25-15, 25-14, 25-17). Butler played a significant role, scoring seven points.

Taylor Mims and Nantes (9-1) dominated Quimper in a 3-0 victory on December 19th (25-21, 25-13, 25-18). Mims contributed seven points to her team’s success, while Shannon Coughlin led Quimper with nine points.

Ashley Evans and CSM Bucuresti (7-4) faced a tough challenge against CSM Corona Brasov, losing 3-1 on December 16th (23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-20). Evans showcased her skills with three points.
