Women’s U20 National Team Set to Compete in 2021 FIVB World Championship

The excitement is building as the Women’s U20 National Team gets ready to represent the United States at the 2021 FIVB Women’s Under-20 World Championship. This highly anticipated tournament will take place from July 9th to July 17th in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Kortrijk, Belgium.

The Journey Begins

The team consists of twelve exceptional athletes who have proven themselves on the court. The team trained at UNLV from June 28th to July 8th before heading to Europe for the tournament.

The Competition Unfolds

During the first three days of the competition, round-robin pool play will determine the initial standings. The United States’ pool includes Turkey, Russia, and Thailand. The pool winners and runners-up will then proceed to two new pools in Rotterdam, while the remaining eight teams form two pools in Kortrijk.

The matches in the second-round groups will take place from July 13th to July 15th, with the pool standings determining the teams’ path to the semifinals. The grand final is scheduled for July 18th at the Topsportcentrum, alongside the bronze medal match and all other classification matches.

This edition of the U20 World Championship is special as it marks the 21st year of the tournament and the first time it is co-hosted by two countries, the Netherlands and Belgium.
