Men’s Update: Vamos a Cuba

The U.S. Men’s National Team is gearing up for the FIVB World League with two exhibition matches in Havana, Cuba on June 4 and 6. This will be the first time the team has played in Cuba since 1995 when they participated in the World League. Initially, the U.S. Men invited Cuba to train in the United States, but due to scheduling conflicts, it did not work out. However, Cuba extended an invitation, which the U.S. Men gladly accepted.

On the Blue Team, Matt Anderson led the way with 17 points, contributing with 14 kills, two blocks, and one ace. Thomas Jaeschke and Reid Priddy also made significant contributions, adding 11 and 12 points respectively. Micah Christenson set for Anderson’s team, while Max Holt, David Lee, and Dan McDonnell shared time in the middle blocker position. Erik Shoji played libero.

The Red Team, on the other hand, was led by Paul Lotman and Murphy Troy, who scored 12 and 11 points respectively. Russell Holmes and Garrett Muagututia also made notable contributions.
