Dave Gentile and Dave Peixoto have been elected to the USA Volleyball Board of Directors, representing the Junior Assembly and the Regional Volleyball Association Assemblies, respectively, through June 30, 2022.
Dave Gentile
Dave Gentile, a previous member of the USA Volleyball Board of Directors from 2005 to 2012, founded Mid-America Volleyball (MAVS) in November 1993. As the executive director of the youth volleyball club, he grew the program from one team to 28 teams with year-round programming for youth development. Under Gentile’s leadership, MAVS became the largest and one of the most successful volleyball clubs in the Kansas City Region. In addition, Gentile has been an integral part of MAVS, serving as a business advisor, consultant, and coach for the past four years.

Gentile expressed his honor at rejoining the USAV Board of Directors and working with the Junior Assembly on initiatives that impact juniors across the country. He commends the Board’s commitment to growing the game and ensuring the national teams and its members achieve the highest level of play and results. Gentile is looking forward to supporting the Board’s efforts. He has also been actively involved in the Heart of America Region board of directors and previously served as the vice president of USA Volleyball’s Juniors Division.

Prior to his involvement in volleyball, Gentile retired as the president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City in September 2014. He then served at Healthscape Advisors LLC as a senior advisor and director of its Thought Leadership Center for three years. Currently, Gentile is the managing partner of LifeCare Strategic Services LLC since October 2017.
Dave Peixoto
Dave Peixoto has been a member of the New England Region Volleyball Association (NERVA) since 1981. In 1989, he founded Coastal Volleyball Club and later became a member of the NERVA Juniors Board of Directors. Peixoto has actively served the region’s Juniors Board in various roles, including scheduler, treasurer, and girls’ division coordinator. He has been the NERVA commissioner since 2011 and serves on the RVAA insurance committee and the SafeSport committee.
Peixoto expressed his gratitude for being elected to represent the 40 USA Volleyball Regions on the Board of Directors. He believes in teamwork and finding solutions to problems, and with the support of his fellow board members, he is committed to promoting the growth of the sport. Peixoto is also a member of the International Volleyball Hall of Fame board of directors and resides in New Bedford, Massachusetts, with his wife Lori. His two grown daughters are still involved in volleyball.
