Twelve Players Selected for 2023 U19 Girls Pan Am Cup

The USA Volleyball National Team Development Program (NTDP) has announced the 12 players who will be representing the United States at the 2023 Girls U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico from May 9th to 15th.

Out of a roster of 20 U19 National Team athletes who underwent training at the Anaheim National Team Training Center from April 30th to May 6th, these 12 athletes stood out for their exceptional skills and talent.

Head coach Keegan Cook expressed his satisfaction with the growth of these talented athletes, acknowledging their resilience and hard work throughout the training period. He commended their dedication to the sport and their impressive level of play.

Two players from the 2022 team that won the Girls U19 Pan American Cup in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and secured a spot in the 2023 FIVB U19 Girls World Championship have also made the roster. Julia Blyashov, an outside hitter, and Izzy Starck, a setter, bring their experience and expertise to the team. Blyashov has previously played on the 2021 Girls U18 Team, winning bronze at the 2021 FIVB U18 World Championship. She was also named MVP of the 18 Open division at the USA Volleyball Girls 18s Junior National Championship in late April.

Joining Blyashov and Starck in Puerto Rico are Blaire Bayless, Kaci Demaria, Teraya Sigler, Abby Vander Wal, Lizzy Andrew, Jaela Auguste, Calissa Minatee, Olivia Babcock, Logan Parks, and Ava Falduto. Suli Davis, Brooklyn DeLeye, Kelly Kinney, Taylor Harvey, Alec Rothe, Reese Messer, Taylor Yu, and Ryan McAleer have been selected as alternates for the team.

The Pan Am Cup will feature other teams from Canada, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The competition promises to be challenging and highly competitive.

In addition to the Pan Am Cup, the USA Volleyball team is also looking forward to participating in the 2023 FIVB Girls U19 World Championship, which will take place in Croatia and Hungary from August 1st to 11th.
