USA Volleyball recently announced the 16-player U.S. Women’s Junior National Training Team (WJNTT) that will compete in the upcoming 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U20 World Championship. This event will take place from July 14-23 in Boca del Rio and Cordoba, Mexico. The U.S. secured their spot in the World Championship by winning gold at the 2017 Women’s U20 Pan American Cup in San Jose, Costa Rica.
The WJNTT roster consists of four middles, two liberos, four outside hitters, three opposites, and three setters. Notable names include Brionne Butler from the University of Texas, Rachael Kramer from the University of Florida, Regan Pittman from the University of Minnesota, and Elle Sandbothe from Kansas State University.

Holly Carlton from the University of North Carolina, Mikayla Shields from the University of South Carolina, and Ronika Stone from the University of Oregon will serve as the team’s opposites. The team will also feature liberos Tiffany Clark and Gabby Curry.

The coaching staff is comprised of head coach Laurie Corbelli from Texas A&M University, assisted by Blake Rawlins from Top Select Volleyball Academy and Jay Van Vark from Grand Canyon University.
The WJNTT includes nine players who were part of the Women’s U20 Pan American Cup gold-medal team, and Thayer Hall was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. The team will undergo training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs from July 2-12.
